Westcotts is thrilled to be sponsoring the Young Devon RunDevon challenge, an annual event that promotes health and wellbeing among young people in Devon, whist raising awareness and funds for the incredible work of Young Devon.
Young Devon is a young people’s charity in the South West of England. Their mission is to make Devon a better place for all young people and each year they work with over 3,500 young people with their wellbeing, accommodation and skills.
With more than 100 safe beds provided a night, and over 10,000 wellbeing sessions delivered a year, Young Devon continues to work with young people to enable them to live happy, independent lives.
RunDevon is taking place this year on 9 and 10 September. Runners follow a route coast-to-coast, from Ilfracombe to Plymouth Speedway across the county of Devon, through some of the most beautiful sights in the South West of England. The route passes through several Westcotts office locations, including Barnstaple, Bideford, Okehampton and Plymouth.
Not only is the run a great chance to explore the beautiful scenery Devon has to offer, it’s also a chance to help change lives. All of the money raised goes directly to Young Devon, and currently almost half of the £25,000 fundraising target has been achieved.

Andrew Moreman, Chief Executive of Young Devon, said: “We’re thrilled to have Westcotts partnering with Young Devon as we strive to support young people who are struggling in their everyday lives.
“RunDevon gives people the opportunity to do two great things at once – get out and enjoy the Devon countryside and raise funds to improve young people’s lives during difficult times. We need your help, so please come and join us, I’ll be running as much of the route as I can (40 miles last year…) and may quite literally need your help at some stage, anyone up for giving me a piggyback to the finish line?!”
Do you have what it takes to participate in this year’s RunDevon challenges? There are five run challenge options, anywhere from the full 92-mile course to 9 miles. The Run Devon team are keen to have 100 runners this year, can you help?
Adam Croney, Partner at Westcotts, added: “We’re thrilled to get behind Young Devon this year, sponsoring the RunDevon event. We know that this commitment gives the organisation confidence to run the event and generate much needed funding for the vital work they deliver for Devon’s young people.
“We have several members of staff joining the challenge, and we urge you to join us in fundraising for this important cause, whether you run 9 miles or 92.”
