Sensing and measurement specialist Mantracourt has invested £500k in enhancing its Exeter facility with a new SMT pick and place line, bolstering production efficiency and quality control for its custom OEM solutions.
The new line enhances product yield by allowing electrical component testing to be carried out before PCB assembly, resulting in yields of up to 99.9 per cent.
The upgraded Mycronic MyData300 Dual Head Mount Machine and Mycronic MyPro150 3D Automatic Inspection Equipment provide increased capacity and quality assurance.
Alistair Candler, purchasing and production manager at Mantracourt, says: “The new machine can place up to 40,000 components per hour, giving us improved runtimes on all our builds. Furthermore, reels can be changed while the machine is running, minimising production downtime.
“Overall, this will allow us to produce more products than ever, with output expected to rise from 150,000 units per year to 250,000 as a direct result of the investment.”
This increased production efficiency also improves Mantracourt’s OEM-partnership capabilities. As an OEM partner, Mantracourt has a comprehensive design and manufacturing service, crafting solutions tailored precisely to your specifications.
