Hundreds of guests enjoyed an unforgettable night at Crowne Plaza Plymouth for our Devon & Plymouth Chamber of Commerce Awards 2024.

We had an incredible response for this year’s Awards, with more than 160 nominations across our 12 categories – as well as more than 70 entries for our 30 Under 30 campaign in partnership with Babcock International Group.

After months of planning and a gruelling judging process, the time came to honour the county’s leading businesses and entrepreneurs with a glittering ceremony on Plymouth’s waterfront.

The food, hospitality and entertainment at Crowne Plaza Plymouth was simply incredible, and it was fabulous to see so many people dressed to impress at what has become one of the most prestigious events in our region’s business calendar.

A huge thank you to our category partners: BCR Associates, Westcotts Chartered Accountants & Business Advisers, Classic Builders, Azets, GA Solicitors, Plymouth Citybus, UK Export Finance, Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise, Cosmic UK, Creative UK, Arts University Plymouth and The Plymouth Charter.

And also a huge thank you to our other Chamber Awards partners – Bespa, Burts Potato Chips, PL1 Events, Plymouth Gin, Pushed, Southwest Boutique Events, and Fresh Air Studios – without whom we simply couldn’t host amazing events like this.

We were welcomed on arrival by friendly staff, drinks and tasty canapés. Then, after a delicious three-course meal, which was provided by the amazing team at at Crowne Plaza Plymouth, the time came to present our Awards.

The Awards themselves were designed and made to a highly sustainable standard by Ben Mundy, Manager of Arts University Plymouth’s Fab Lab Plymouth.

They are crafted from sustainable Devon timber, made from a Victorian cherry tree that was originally planted as part of a landscaped garden. It was milled on site in Dunchideock, Devon, just over a year ago, and has been air seasoned over the last 12 months – a technique that is more energy-efficient than traditional methods of seasoning timber by using a kiln.

Our unsuspecting winners were revealed throughout the ceremony by our hosts, Nadine Mashingaidze from the University of Exeter and Fresh Air Studios’ Paul Philpott, who kept everyone entertained throughout.

It was also a huge honour to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Graham Stirling, who was joined on stage by his loving family.

All the regional winners from our eligible categories will now be automatically entered into the National British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) Awards.

We were also thrilled to welcome a number of winners from this year’s 30 Under 30 campaign, in partnership with Babcock International Group. Meet them all here.

Stuart Elford, CEO of the Devon & Plymouth Chamber, said: “A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at Crowne Plaza Plymouth, and to each and every Chamber member who submitted an entry for this year’s Awards.

“Picking the winners was an incredibly tough decision for our panel, with so many of our members enjoying great success over the last 12 months.

“Our Awards dinner was a truly fabulous night of celebration and we can’t wait to welcome you all again next year. Lastly, a special thanks to all our Chamber patrons, without whom events like this would simply not be possible.”
