Devon Business Show 2023 key themes
The hugely popular event is organised by Devon & Plymouth Chamber of Commerce around three themes – People, Planet and Purpose. It was supported by headline partners City College Plymouth, YGS Landscapes Ltd and Wildanet as the respective ‘People and Skills’, ‘Planet’ and ‘Purpose’ partners.
It is designed around six key zones that cover the region’s core sectors. A huge thanks to our Zone Partners: University of Exeter (Business Services); PL1 Events (Digital, Media & Technology); Plymouth Active Leisure (Retail, Leisure, Tourism & Hospitality Zone Partner); Sir Fix-a-Lock Ltd (Sustainability); Plymouth Marjon University (Education and Skills); and WH Scott & Son Engineers (Marine, Construction and Manufacturing).
Before the Show we were joined by a number of exhibitors at Salumi Bar & Eatery for an epic networking session, not to mention a delicious breakfast, in partnership with The Plymouth Charter.
Then afterwards, we invited exhibitors to join us at Moxy Plymouth for what proved to be a perfect end to celebrate a brilliant day of networking with delicious pizzas and plenty of drinks.

An exciting an innovative format
The Show offered a fantastic opportunity to hear from the region’s leading businesses and entrepreneurs – LIVE from the studio. The agenda featured business knowledge, top tips and insights courtesy of Fresh Air Studios, supported by Podcast Partner Westcotts.
Babcock International Group were Show Hub Partner, Kaya Gallery Show Lanyards Partner, and Inch Recycling Solutions Virtual Goodie Bag Partner.
We’re also grateful to First Aid Partner, White Cross Training, whose Laurence and Sam kindly provided cover free of charge.
Thanks also to our Accommodation Partner, The Duke of Cornwall Hotel, who offered special rates for exhibitors and partners.

A word from our Devon & Plymouth Chamber CEO
Stuart Elford, Devon & Plymouth Chamber CEO, said: “We had the most fantastic day at Plymouth Pavilions for the Devon Business Show. What an incredible event and I want to thank everyone who came. That includes attendees, exhibitors and in particular our three headline partners, City College Plymouth, YGS Landscapes and SocieTree, and Wildanet.
“A special thank you to Paul Philpott and his team at Fresh Air Studios for live-streaming podcasts from the stage. These are now available on Apple iTunes and Spotify.
“And also thank you to Paul Burton and his pbmedia team who helped with social media throughout the day. The spread across the channels has just been amazing.
“I was particularly thrilled to be able to announce next year’s Show, which is on Wednesday 16 October, 2024, at a great new venue – Plymouth Life Centre.
“Their sports hall is 40% bigger than the hall we were in at the Pavilions, and they’re going to open up all their facilities to attendees and exhibitors. So, there’ll be gyms, yoga, swimming, the climbing wall and much, much more.
“We’re going to theme the show around people, about health and wellbeing. And we’ve got an area out the front where there’s an opportunity to showcase the motor industry. It’s going to be absolutely brilliant and you can register your interest as an exhibitor now on our website.
“I want to end by saying thank you again for attending what was an amazing Show, with such a positive buzz. I’m really, really thrilled and I’ve got to thank my team who did the most incredible job. I’m so proud of them.”
The Devon Business Show will be back on Wednesday 16 October, 2024 with a fresh new format that will promote inclusivity and feature exciting, innovative and interactive displays.
