After the success of Devon & Plymouth Chamber of Commerce’s first 30 Under 30 campaign to honour the region’s young business stars, we’re delighted to once again be partnering with Babcock for this exciting initiative.
Entries are open for 2023, so if you know someone under 30 who has made a significant impact in the working world, fill in the form on our website to nominate someone, or yourself, and help us celebrate the next generation of business leaders.
Young business people play a hugely important role in the future of our economy and our business community, so it’s crucial that we nurture and reward young talent.
Our 30 selected winners, chosen by our partners, will be honoured during our glittering Devon & Plymouth Chamber of Commerce Awards ceremony at The New Continental Hotel in Plymouth on Friday 19 May.
You can book your ticket for our Awards ceremony here.

Dave Tytherleigh, Supply Chain & Logistics Director at Babcock International Group, said: “Babcock is delighted to be supporting the 30 Under 30 campaign in partnership with Plymouth & Devon Chamber of Commerce again this year.
“At Babcock, we recognise the importance of developing and supporting our people at all stages of their career. We take great pride in growing our own talent, including the hundreds of apprentices and graduates that are based at our Devonport facility.
“This important campaign recognises and celebrates talented young individuals across Devon who have made a significant impact in the working world.
“Plymouth is fortunate to have so many talented young professionals working across a variety of industries, and it is great that by working alongside Plymouth & Devon Chamber of Commerce, we can formally commend our talented young community.”

We launched this year’s 30 Under 30 in October 2022 at our quarterly meeting – a networking event for last year’s successful nominations.
Once again, this exciting initiative aims to recognise and celebrate rising talent across the region. Or maybe they have positively contributed to the sustainability of our planet and/or the local community?
Perhaps someone in your team has exceptional entrepreneurial abilities, are an inspiration to others or shows significant potential to develop into a leader. If so, don’t hesitate and make your nomination today.
The full judging criteria is as follows:
- The speed in which the candidate has progressed in the working world
- Does the candidate have any outstanding accomplishments?
- What is the candidate’s contribution to the sustainability of our planet?
- Do they have exceptional abilities as an entrepreneur?
- What are they doing to benefit the local community?
- How do they influence other team members?
- Their potential to become a future leader

Chamber chief executive Stuart Elford said: “More than half-a-million businesses operate throughout the Southwest. We’re a thriving region built for business, which is ranked number one in the UK for innovation.
“Young business people play a hugely important role in that. They represent the future of our economy and our business community, so it’s crucial that we nurture and reward young talent.
“Whatever your nominee’s achievements, the Chamber would love to hear about them!”
