The creation of a powerful new animated film has shown the importance of networking and the true power of collaboration between our Devon & Plymouth Chamber members.
Refuge4Pets provides a much-needed animal fostering service across Devon and Cornwall to victim-survivors of domestic abuse so they can leave with their pets.
The team was on the lookout for a local company to create an animation to highlight their amazing work across the region, as it is tricky to explain what the charity does when they can’t use ‘real’ people and their animals in marketing materials.
Anne-Marie Clark, Refuge4Pets‘ Marketing & Communications Coordinator, met Karen Meadows from Pushed at one of our virtual Chamber events, and discussed with her the animation the charity was looking to commission.
Pushed is an award-winning, Plymouth-based animation and video production studio, responsible for creating TV programme titles, adverts, corporate films and motion graphics.
A few short months later, and the video now sits proudly on the Refuge4Pets homepage to share the charity’s important message.
“The talented team at Pushed completely understood what it was we needed and made the whole process very easy from start to finish”
Karen (pictured) said: “What an absolute privilege to meet Refuge4Pets at a Devon & Plymouth Chamber event.
“On hearing about Pushed, Refuge4Pets could see the value in animated content to explain their valuable charity work. To collaborate with a team as passionate as Refuge4Pets was a pure delight.
“The work undertaken by them is incredibly emotive and sensitive, and helping to bring the important work they do to life through 2D animation was very rewarding despite the shocking nature of the true story conveyed.”

Anne-Marie added: “The talented team at Pushed completely understood what it was we needed and made the whole process very easy from start to finish. This animation really tells the story of who we are and what we do in a simple yet incredibly powerful way.”
It’s stories like this that make us so proud of our Chamber Family – and the best part is that everyone is welcome.
